The mission is the best decision I ever made and the best 18 months of my life. It was the hardest and most challenging thing as well. For girls, I think serving a mission is a very personal process and a decision that should only be made by two people, the Lord and the person who is considering it. This goes for the girls... a guy is completely different. I think every girl owes it to the Lord and themselves to ask if serving is right... just ask... He'll tell you.
With that being said, in my perfect world, and my very naive world, every girl would ask if they should serve.... why do I say that? In my personal experience, there are things that I could have ONLY learned as a missionary. Everything came alive for me in the mission field. I really hadn't lived or understood the gospel or life until I put on that name badge. It's a VERY short time where VERY much is learned, gained and experienced. I understand that there are things that should be done before a mission or instead, but if God has given you the opportunity and the impression after you have willingly asked him, why not? If I could have every young girl look into my eyes and see what a mission has done for me, and have them understand that this experience is unlike anything else they will experience, I would. Don't take my word for it, pray and do what you hear or feel back.
The opportunity of a lifetime is awaiting you
